Exciting Dinner Spots around Sozopol

Dear lilioftheworld.com reader, it is Lili, your co-editor. Are you looking for interesting dinner spots around Sozopol? This is the right place.

Just like many of you, we were also limited in terms of travelling abroad. That is why we decided to spend the summer in our home country- Bulgaria. We love the Bulgarian seaside (and one particular part of it- the town of Sozopol) and we want to show you its beauty. While travelling around Sozopol, we found some restaurants which might be interesting if you are looking for special dinner spots.

The common thing about all of them is that they are within 10-15 minutes drive from the town of Sozopol. This means that for all of them you need a car or a taxi, public transport will not work. The list below will be updated over time as we tend to find new spots every now and then.

Although I had named the article “interesting dinner spots”, this does not mean that you cannot go there for lunch or for a drink in the afternoon. On the contrary- maybe you will find them even cuter without the evening buzz.

The restaurants are in an alphabetical order and the way they appear does not reflect my preference- you can get the last when reading between the lines ;).

Interesting dinner spots around Sozopol:

Address: “Via Pontika” Str. 141, 8130 Budzhaka, Sozopol, Bulgaria

The place is located close to camping Kavatsi, i.e. south of Sozopol. The word “Dalyan” in Bulgaria means fishing installation in the water. Thanks to the south location of the restaurant one can find there fresh fish every day. The fresh fish is also what this place is famous for.

Dalyan Chaika entrance

Dalyan Chaika is suitable for big celebrations, as well as romantic dinners or just an ordinary go-out with your family. It is big enough, however make sure you make a reservation as it is almost always fully booked. There is plenty of space for kids to play, as well as a lot of nice set-ups for Instagram lovers.

Although the restaurant faces south, you can as well enjoy a beautiful sunset over the dalyans. So make sure you are there right on time for sunset.

Address: 8130 Sozopolis, Sozopol, Bulgaria

Just like the previous place, this is another spot where fishing nests are located. The restaurant is within one of the luxurious districts of Sozopol- Sozopolis. However, the place is neither posh, nor expensive.

Its location makes it one of my favorite spots for watching sunsets. The menu is not rich, but if you are a fish fan, you will be satisfied with what’s available.

Unpretentious interior of Dalyan Sozopolis

Dalyan Sozopolis is close to the sea, so on a windy day, you might need something to put on. It is above a small beach reachable via steep stairs. The place is not huge, thus in my opinion not suitable for children. There is no kids’ corner as well.

As this is one of the few restaurants in Sozopolis complex, it is popular among the complex residents and it can be busy. Make sure you have a reservation before going there.

Address: Chervenka beach, 8142 Chernomorets, Bulgaria

This beach restaurant is located right above the beach Chervenka (плаж Червенка), north of Sozopol in the village of Chernomorets. It is under the plum trees (known in Bulgarian as “djanki”) where the name of the place comes from. As this is one of the few restaurants in the area, many beach visitors go there for lunch.

The restaurant has a very informal design, just tables under the trees. This makes it inappropriate on rainy days/ evenings as there are no shelters. The special thing about Djanka del Mar is its short, but very delicious menu. Do not be surprised when the waiter brings you just a huge white board with hand-written names of the dishes instead of a menu-card.

Although there is no designated kids’ corner, there is plenty of space for the kids to run among the trees. The beach is just beneath, so you can enjoy your dinner while kids run freely around.

Here again a reservation is a must, so that you are sure one of the 10 tables is for you. In case there is no wind on a summer evening, there might be mosquitoes under the trees. The restaurant staff usually offers a mosquito spray, but just to be on the safe side bring your own one.

Address: Vromos beach, 8142 Chernomorets, Bulgaria

A bit more north of Djanka del Mar, still in the village of Chernomorets, we have another great spot to share with you. Its name is Myastoto and it is another place to watch the sunset. The restaurant is just above a tiny beach- Vromos and a beautiful bay facing the city of Burgas in the north. This is for sure one of the most picturesque locations we have visited this year.

The restaurant has tents, but I doubt they will protect from rain. We were there for lunch, on a Sunday, and it was not crowded, but just to be on the safe side, you can book a table before visiting. The menu is rich enough having in mind the location and the set-up. Everything we tried was extremely delicious.

There is no designated kids’ area, however the beach is right beneath and there is a huge meadow where they can play and run.

Myastoto- simple, yet cozy

Address: “Via Pontika” Str. 66, 8130 Budzhaka, Sozopol, Bulgaria

The restaurant is in the Sozopol area Budjaka, a bit north of Sozopolis. Overlooking the beautiful Paradise bay, the restaurant is suitable for special celebrations (it quite often hosts weddings) and romantic dinners. Still, it is a preferred place for parents due to the lovely kids’ area in the shape of a ship. Not only kids will love the place, but also it is heaven for Instagrammers. With attention to detail, every corner of the restaurant is like a post card.

Reservation is a must there as due to the fact that it is on a walk-able distance from the town of Sozopol, it is fully booked every evening.

Paradise Bay (Ресторант “Южен полъх”)

Address: Hotel Utopia, Park Rosenets, 8000 Burgas, Bulgaria

It is another parents’ heaven due to the huge kids’ area. Located in the forest, the place gives the feeling you are not at the seaside. It is a bit more north of Sozopol, close to the city of Burgas. However, the direction signs give pretty good orientation about its location.

The restaurant view upon entering Utopia Forest complex

The place is part of a hotel complex (not a big one), where besides this main building there is a beach nearby. There is a shuttle service in case you are staying at the hotel.

Being in the forest, the main advantage of the restaurant are the cooler temperatures in the hot summer nights. The downside are the mosquitoes. Although the hotel had installed a pretty good system against them, these insects are smarter. Just beware of this fact in case you are going there in the evening.

Utopia Forest coziness comes from the small lake next to the restaurant

The service is amazingly good, the food is also delicious, thus many people want to visit it. Do not think of going there without a reservation, as anyway it is the only place in the vicinity.
