Best Restaurants with Views in Sozopol
Last updated June, 2022
Dear lilioftheworld.com reader, here is Lili, your co-editor. Some weeks ago I promised you to share my recommendations for the best restaurants with views in Sozopol- my favorite Bulgarian Black sea resort. Here comes the article.
For those of you who haven’t read the other articles about Sozopol, here is a bit of a background. Sozopol is in our hearts as we are visiting this resort for the last 20 years. It comprises not only beautiful beaches and vibrant nightlife, but also rich heritage, traditional hospitality and delicious Bulgarian gastronomy. We were inspired to write the article 10 reasons why Sozopol is a good idea for your holiday. After spending that many years there, we are kind of experts especially when it comes to beach locations. Therefore, the article with 10 best beach bars around Sozopol might be very useful for the first-time visitors. Do not miss the recommendation for 25 Things to Do in Sozopol.
Restaurants with views
Another thing we are good at, is finding hidden gems for beautiful views. Especially sunset views. And this is how we came up with the idea about the current article. Of course we should make the disclaimer that things change and restaurants are not something permanent. That is why we try to update the article on regular basis. Before heading to the respective restaurant, please check the status on Google or other information source.
Another thing worth mentioning is that we will focus here on the “restaurants with views” and the view itself and not that much on the restaurant and the quality of food and service. Though, we are visiting some of these places over and over again, as they fit our taste preference.
So, here is our recommendation for the best restaurants with views in Sozopol:
Address: 28 Vihren Str., 8130 Sozopol, Bulgaria
This is by far my favorite among all the restaurants with views in Sozopol. One thing to mention before proceeding is that Black sea is located to the east of Bulgaria. This means that we can watch only the sunrise above the sea. The romantic sunset views, where the sun is “diving into” the water are rare (not to say almost missing).
Although the sun does not sunset directly in the water, you can see the reflection of the sun in the sea when it goes down behind the neighboring mountains. One of the benefits of Sozopol (at least for me because other people think it is a disadvantage) is the fact that it has a terrace-style location. It is true that sometimes it can be difficult to reach out your accommodation especially if it is on the top of the hill. However, you will be rewarded with an amazing view towards one or the other bay. This is the case with Orion restaurant. It is located on a steep hill with no other buildings in front. Thus the view towards the King’s beach (Царски плаж) bay is unobscured.
The place is not only a restaurant, but it is also a guest house. It is not luxurious, but you have everything you need for your stay. And most importantly- an amazing view to wake up each morning to.
Address: 6 Lazuren bryag Str., 8130 Sozopol, Bulgaria
This restaurant is overlooking the central beach in Sozopol. Although you cannot see the sunset in the sea, the view from here is also mesmerizing. The restaurant has been reconstructed over the last year, so I will have to update the photos which are from the previous interior.

Address: 14 Lazuren bryag Str., 8130 Sozopol, Bulgaria
This restaurant is just a couple of minutes away from the previous. The restaurant is part of a hotel (owned by the Technical University of Sofia) and in order to get to it, you should pass through a black gateway (they introduced a sign recently, so you can see its name when passing by on the street). Follow the steps leading you through an archway of fig trees until you get to see the sea. On your right you will see the restaurant.
You can choose a dinner for two or more joyful setup
Panorama restaurant in Sozopol is overlooking the whole bay of the central beach. Right opposite is the old town and the famous path “the Wall”. As the hotel Panorama is part of an old state-owned property, you can get a bit of a feeling of the old days. However, the stuff is amazingly kind and the food is delicious. You will find a rich choice of seafood; make sure you try the mussels. The restaurant is suitable for romantic dates as well as big gatherings with friends and family.

Address: 77 Ribarska Str., 8130 Sozopol, Bulgaria
Kirik is a restaurant which is open the whole year round. Its name comes from the island where the fishermen school is located. Restaurant Kirik is also very popular among locals which speaks for itself about the quality of the food and service. The restaurant is not big, so you better book a table if you are coming in the busy summer season. The tables are conveniently located above the street, so you get a lovely view to the sunset.
Other similar options in the same street
Besides this restaurant there are a couple of others located on the same street. Some of them might have similar views or at least slightly different angles. If you are staying longer in the town, you can try a few of them.
Address: 21 Morski skali Str., 8130 Sozopol, Bulgaria
Panorama St. Ivan restaurant is also in the Old Town of Sozopol, located at the end of the peninsula. It is overlooking one of the few islands on our Black Sea coast- St Ivan (or St John in EN). The restaurant is small and cozy, therefore quite popular among Sozopol visitors. Here reservation is a must, even weeks before you decide to visit it (especially in high season).
This is another family owned restaurant which the owners operate for the last almost 30 years. There are so loyal customers who come here every time they are on vacation in Sozopol. The menu is extremely rich and everything we tried was very delicious. The lady who is cooking in the kitchen is one of the owners and she says that the recipes she is using have been proven over the years. That is why maybe the food is that delicious.
Address: 13 Kraybrezhna Str., 8130 Sozopol, Bulgaria
Having such a central location, Porto Elea is a very popular and busy restaurant. We might even classify it as “touristic”, so if you are looking for something cozy, this is definitely not for you. I recommend it because of the food and also because of the nice sunset view. It was also recommended by a local friend, and we know that the locals are the best source for tips :).
Porto Elea has a part overlooking the harbor and a back yard which is more suitable for families with children. The part towards the harbor has two levels. Although the view of the upper one is better, I find it very noisy and thus not the best choice. You can get a couple of photos from the upper deck and still have a bit more peaceful dinner on the lower floor.
Because of the romantic view, Porto Elea is quite popular as a dinner date spot.
Address: 7 Morski skali Str., 8130 Sozopol, Bulgaria
Some people consider this to be the restaurant with the most romantic view in Sozopol. You can judge yourself based on the photos below.
The restaurant is on two levels where the lower one is with windows (which can be a good protection against the wind). It is also a family-owned restaurant and you can feel it in everything- service, food, set-up. The place is really busy during high season, so make sure you book your table a lot in advance.

Chiko’s Fish Restaurant
Address: Marina Port, 8130 Sozopol, Bulgaria
This place used to be a small fisherman’s restaurant, however it got popularity in the last years due to its rich choice of fresh fish. It is right at the entrance of the marina, thus at the level of the boats. Still, you can make great photos of the sunset with the boats being part of the landscape.
Although quite popular now, Chiko’s fish has preserved its cozy atmosphere

Urania
Address: 34 Milet Str., 8130 Sozopol, Bulgaria
If you wonder where I too the photo in the header of the article, it is from restaurant Urania. It is located on the so-called “The Wall” path- the southern part of the Old Town peninsula. Although I’m not a big fan of the restaurants there (the street gets really busy in the evenings and people are passing by your table), this one I find really cute. Just some other restaurants around, it offers tables above or under the pedestrian part, so you can enjoy your privacy.
I cannot but share that they did my Aperol spritz on the table in front of me- I rarely have seen such a good service.
Address: 16 Odesa Str., 8130 Sozopol, Bulgaria
One thing to start with is the fact that there is another restaurant called La Veranda. This is a very common mistake to mix the two places. This one is located at the end of Harmani beach, overlooking the whole bay. Basically the view from this one and the neighboring Laguna restaurant is quite similar, but my recommendation will go for this one.
Despite the fact that this is the last on the list of restaurants with views and the view is not as spectacular as the previous, having dinner and overlooking the sea is something I really enjoy. The stuff is also very friendly and the food- delicious. This place has become quite popular in the last years, so make sure you have a reservation before you go there.
Address: 66 Via Pontika Str., 8130 Budzhaka, Sozopol, Bulgaria
This one is part of the hotel having the same name. And as the name suggests it is located in the Paradise Bay south of Sozopol. A bit away from the hustle of the town, Restaurant Paradise Bay is a real hidden gem. You can either walk there or reach it by car. The restaurant has a part which is under the stars, across the street of the main hotel. The blue and white interior design reminds of the Greek Cycladic islands.
The restaurant has a very nice kids area, so it is suitable for romantic dates as well as for families with children. The restaurant is quite popular, so make sure you make a reservation before going there. You can enjoy a rich choice of fish and other seafood. Prices are a bit high, so I would recommend it for special occasions.
